The rules are simple. The player who would get to play the first is decided with the help of six-sided dice. Thereafter, the other dies are thrown. This helps the player to move forward as per the numbers on these dies. On reaching the specific place, the player would face some challenge, which again varies. Such challenges may be in DVD format, or a question on trivia card. At times, the player would be required to draw some Buzz card. If the player succeeds in overcoming the challenge, he or she can move forward by rolling the dies once more. Otherwise, the player has to surrender the two dies to the opponents, who would start moving forward. This goes on till one of the two players or two teams reaches the All Stop sign. This sign may be Win sign on some boards.

As in the box says, Scene It? Is all about films and movie magic. It's a very simple trivia game. Players move about the board and answer some questions about movies, such as what was Alien III's tag line, or what composer has been nominated for an Oscar 18 times but never won. The interesting part is that there is also some visual component as well. Players can roll a My Play or an All Play category which will play a short film clip, such as Hannibal, Fried Green Tomatoes, etc.

Then you ask the questions about the clip, it could be something as cute and simple as how many glasses of water were in the clip to what state did the clip take place, or even who was the best actress who played that character's mother. The game is very fast paced, enjoyable and a lot of fun. The graphics on the DVD menus options and the changes are very nice to watch. Further, a new Expansion DVD is supposed to be released and come out every three months. As everyone might have guessed, players must have a DVD player to even play this game.
